Webkit Browser Market Share
Looks like Internet Explorer is slowly losing it’s market share to Chrome and Safari. This corresponds pretty well with what we’ve seen at HSPH.
HSPH visitor browsers for December 2009 vs 2010:
- IE is down from 50% to 42%
- Firefox: 31% to 30%
- Safari: 12.5% to 17%
- Chrome: 4% to 10%
So, while Firefox is remaining steady, the webkit browsers are making a charge. As a web designer, this is fantastic news.
PS: IE 6 usage for December was 4%! This makes me beyond happy. We dropped support for 5.5 at this point a few years back. It’s only a matter of time now.
